MEDININAGAR – Amid the harsh winter, Palamu’s DC Shashi Ranjan ensured that vulnerable individuals receive adequate relief and care.

District Commissioner Shashi Ranjan undertook a late-night visit to Medininagar’s key areas, including the railway station and Ambedkar Park, where many underprivileged individuals spend the nights in freezing temperatures. During this tour, he personally distributed over 30 blankets to those in need, including street vendors selling leaf plates and tooth sticks.

Inspection of Shelter Facilities

DC Ranjan inspected the state of the government shelter home at the bus depot. His focus was on ensuring sufficient bedding, blankets, room heaters, and sanitation facilities. Municipal Commissioner Mohammad Javed Hussain accompanied him, providing detailed updates about the shelter’s condition and ongoing measures.

Bonfire Arrangements Across City

The DC also evaluated the bonfire arrangements at various city intersections, a key initiative by the municipal authorities to provide warmth during the cold wave. He instructed the administration to address any shortcomings to ensure the needy are well-cared for throughout the winter.

In his interactions, DC Ranjan emphasized, “Our goal is to ensure no one suffers from the cold, especially the most vulnerable. Efforts will be continuously monitored.”

Officials including Assistant Commissioner Bishwajit Mahato and City Mission Manager Satish Kumar joined the inspection. Their presence highlighted the administration’s commitment to combating the effects of the severe winter.
