Poush Mela Set to Transform Birsa Munda Park into Bengali Cultural Hub

Two-Day Festival to Showcase Art, Fashion and Entertainment on Dec 28-29

JAMSHEDPUR – The historic Birsa Munda Memorial Park is gearing up to host the second edition of Poush Mela, celebrating Bengali culture and traditions.

The two-day cultural extravaganza will begin at 1 PM on December 28. “We have planned a modest opening ceremony respecting the national mourning period,” said Supriyo Bhattacharya, chief patron.

Entertainment Lineup

Artists from multiple states will showcase their talents at the event. The festivities will feature a painting competition at 1 PM. Moreover, a fashion show will begin at 6 PM.

Meanwhile, Moulali Rangshilpi from Kolkata will present a comedy play at 6:40 PM. Furthermore, renowned SaReGaMa Kolkata singer Gurujit Singh will perform at 7:30 PM.

Traditional Elements

The entrance will showcase Bengali culture through traditional decorations. Additionally, visitors can explore authentic Bengali cuisine at the venue.

The event will feature decorative elements like dheka, chalani, and hand fans. However, entry will remain free for all visitors.

The park’s East Jail Road gate will serve as the main entrance. In contrast to last year, the organizing committee has planned a simpler celebration.
