Cloud Cover Brings Relief as Night Temperatures Rise in Jharkhand

Western Disturbance Triggers Light Rain in Several Districts

Key Points:

  • Minimum temperatures rise above normal across major Jharkhand cities
  • Western Disturbance creates cyclonic circulation over Pakistan region
  • Light rainfall reported in Koderma, Gumla and Barhi districts

RANCHI – A Western Disturbance moving across northern India has triggered weather changes in Jharkhand, causing temperature rises and scattered rainfall.

The minimum temperature in Ranchi reached 11.2°C, marking a two-degree rise above normal seasonal levels. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur recorded 12.7°C, also exceeding the normal range by two degrees.

In contrast, Daltonganj witnessed an even more significant change. The city’s minimum temperature climbed to 12.1°C, three degrees above the usual mark.

Rainfall Activity

Light precipitation occurred in several districts over the past 24 hours. “The Western Disturbance has created favorable conditions for isolated rainfall in some parts of the state,” explained a meteorological department official.

Atmospheric Systems

The Western Disturbance has formed a cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and Afghanistan. Moreover, it extends between 3.1 and 7.6 km above mean sea level.

On the other hand, a low-pressure area has developed over northwest Rajasthan. This system, reaching up to 1.5 km above mean sea level, influences local weather patterns.

Historical data shows that Western Disturbances typically affect Jharkhand’s weather during winter months. Additionally, such systems often lead to temporary disruption of cold wave conditions.
