Key Points:

- Single-use plastic seized from several market shops
- Jharkhand has banned single-use plastic statewide
JAMSHEDPUR – The Mango Municipal Corporation has launched another campaign against single-use plastic, intensifying inspections in the Mango market area on Monday. Officials confiscated plastic materials being sold in violation of the ban.
Under Jharkhand’s statewide ban on single-use plastic, penalties and fines are imposed on violators. The latest crackdown aligns with the state’s measures to protect the environment.
During the inspection, officials emphasized the severe environmental harm caused by single-use plastics. They urged residents and shopkeepers to avoid its usage entirely.
“This campaign is necessary to protect the environment from further damage. People must refrain from using plastic,” said an official from Mango Municipal Corporation.
Authorities have also warned of stricter actions in the coming weeks. Shopkeepers found violating the ban may face higher fines and legal proceedings.
The campaign aims to raise awareness while ensuring compliance with the state’s anti-plastic regulations. Similar drives have been conducted earlier to curb the illegal sale and distribution of plastic in Jamshedpur.
