RANCHI – A severe cold wave has gripped Jharkhand with temperatures dropping significantly below normal across multiple cities, including Jamshedpur recording 7.9°C.
Several districts have recorded unusually low temperatures. Daltonganj registered 6.7°C, while Bokaro recorded 7.1°C.
Temperature Variations
Chaibasa experienced a minimum temperature of 6.8°C. Meanwhile, Garhwa recorded 5°C, and Hazaribagh saw 6.6°C.
“A weather system forming in Tamil Nadu might partially affect Jharkhand’s climate,” explained Dr. Abhishek Anand, a meteorological expert.
Weather Advisory
The Meteorological Department has issued a five-day forecast. Temperatures are expected to drop further in the next 2-3 days.
However, weather patterns may change after December 19. Moreover, rainfall is predicted in Ranchi and other districts during December 20-21.
Safety Measures
The weather department has issued safety guidelines for residents. People are advised to wear woolen clothes and cover their neck and nose.
Additionally, experts recommend consuming hot, fresh meals. Furthermore, morning walks should be delayed until sunshine appears.
