SCCI Urges Action to Resolve Key Issues in Jugsalai
Encroachments, Traffic, and Lack of Facilities Highlighted
Key Points:
- Encroachment on Gwalapada Road causing severe traffic congestion.
- Absence of a local fire station poses a major safety risk.
- SCCI demands parking facilities and public toilets in Jugsalai.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has urged the District Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal to address ongoing issues plaguing Jugsalai, a major business hub of Jamshedpur. Speaking on behalf of the Chamber, Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia raised concerns about encroachments, traffic congestion, and lack of basic facilities in the area.
President Vijay Anand Moonka emphasized the challenges faced by residents and businesses alike. “Jugsalai is a densely populated and bustling center, but persistent problems such as encroachments and heavy traffic are making daily life extremely difficult,” he stated.
One critical issue is the encroachment on Gwalapada Road, where animals like cows, buffaloes, and goats are permanently tied, blocking traffic. “This issue was resolved six years ago, but the situation has sadly reverted,” Moonka added, stressing the need for immediate clearance.
Another pressing concern is the absence of a fire brigade station in Jugsalai. Fire trucks currently have to arrive from the Golmuri fire station, which delays response times in emergencies. “This poses a major risk to life and property. We request the administration to identify a site in Jugsalai for a fire brigade station,” Moonka urged.
Vice President Abhishek Agarwal Goldy and Secretary Suresh Sharma Lipu highlighted the lack of designated parking facilities, a significant challenge given Jugsalai’s commercial importance. They suggested the Jugsalai Municipal Corporation establish and manage proper parking arrangements to ease congestion.
The Chamber also called attention to the absence of public toilets, particularly affecting women employees and customers. Vice President Anil Modi and Secretary Bharat Makani stressed, “A Sulabh toilet facility is urgently needed to address the needs of women and improve public convenience.”
Other office bearers, including Advocate Rajiv Agarwal, Puneet Kanwatiya, Anshul Ringasia, Binod Sharma, and Treasurer CA Anil Ringasia, echoed these concerns and urged the Deputy Commissioner to take swift action.
The SCCI hopes that the administration will prioritize these issues to improve the quality of life and ease of doing business in Jugsalai.
