Santhali Language Day Celebrations Planned in Patmda on Dec 22

JAMSHEDPUR – A committee has been formed under Tika Ram Murmu to organize Santhali Language Day celebrations in Patmda on December 22.
The Adivasi Socio Educational and Cultural Association is leading the preparations. Shankar Soren chaired a planning meeting in Patmda. The committee includes Jitu Ram Murmu as secretary.
Moreover, Diwakar Tudu will serve as treasurer. “This celebration marks a historic achievement for our community,” said an association member.
The event commemorates a significant milestone in Santhali’s history. On December 22, 2003, the language joined India’s Eighth Schedule.
Furthermore, this recognition opened new educational opportunities. It enabled Olchiki script-based education across multiple states.
In addition, several tribal intellectuals attended the planning meeting. The attendees included Samant Murmu and Vinod.
Meanwhile, other prominent members were also present. Shiwnath and Harihar Tudu participated in the discussions.
Additionally, Sukhdeo Hebram and Vibhuti Hebram joined the meeting. Naresh Chandra Soren contributed to the planning process.
The meeting saw participation from other community leaders. Subhash Hebram and Sanjay Tudu attended the session.
Moreover, Piru Soren and Jaleshwar Hasda were present. Aditya Prasad Soren also joined the preparations.
