JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Motors Workers Union convened its first committee meeting on December 3, 2024, at the union office under the leadership of president Gurmeet Singh. General Secretary R.K. Singh outlined the meeting’s agenda, which included member introductions, addressing divisional issues, and planning upcoming events like a volleyball tournament on December 21 to honor the late Gopeshwar Lal Das.
Special guest and union advisor Praveen Singh stressed the importance of solidarity among committee members for advancing worker interests. "Leadership should be unified, and members must support it like the multiple arms of Goddess Durga," he remarked, urging members to prioritize worker welfare and trust in collective efforts.
During the meeting, new committee members introduced themselves and shared their perspectives. President Singh welcomed them warmly and advised the group to maintain harmony and discipline in their endeavors.
A key highlight was the announcement of a blood donation camp to be held on March 3, reinforcing the union’s commitment to social responsibility. General Secretary Singh reiterated the union’s values of unity and discipline, expressing hope for continued enthusiasm in their work.
The gathering observed a minute’s silence to honor the late P.K. Mohanty, a former office-bearer. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Anil Sharma, while Prakash Vishwakarma efficiently handled the stage proceedings.
