JAMSHEDPUR – In a swift breakthrough, police arrested two individuals in connection with a theft that occurred on November 1 at Naseem Akhtar’s residence in Haldi Pokhar, under Kowali police station.
The accused, identified as Ajay Mallah from Bagbera and jeweler Ashok Kumar Jain, were apprehended following a tip-off. Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal disclosed that the stolen items, including gold and silver ornaments, were recovered from their possession.
The stolen valuables included 241.78 grams of silver anklets, coins weighing 50 grams and 10 grams, and gold ornaments such as 69 nose pins (8.91 grams), 38 pieces of nose rings (10.52 grams), earrings (10.38 grams), and a gold locket. A motorcycle was also seized during the operation.
Ajay Mallah, reportedly involved in prior criminal activities, was identified as the primary perpetrator. The stolen items were sold to Ashok Kumar Jain, who operates a jewelry shop. Both suspects were presented before a magistrate and later sent to jail on Thursday.
Rural SP Rishabh Garg and other officials were present during the briefing at Kowali police station. The police’s swift action has drawn commendation from local residents, who praised their efficiency in solving the case.
