Mangal Munda Succumbs to Injuries Despite Treatment at RIMS

RANCHI – Mangal Munda, the great-grandson of freedom fighter Birsa Munda, passed away late Thursday night at RIMS, Ranchi.

Mangal Munda had met with an accident near Khunti a few days ago, suffering serious head injuries. He was admitted to RIMS Ranchi, where his condition remained critical despite a successful operation. Chief Minister Hemant Soren had directed the Khunti Deputy Commissioner to ensure the best possible medical treatment for him.

Medical Efforts Fall Short

Following the accident, Mangal Munda underwent surgery at RIMS. However, his condition did not improve, and he was placed on ventilator support. Despite doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at around 12:30 AM on Thursday.

Leaders Show Support

Earlier on Thursday, Meera Munda, wife of former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, visited RIMS to inquire about Mangal Munda’s health. The news of his passing was shared by his brother, Kanu Munda, through Facebook, leaving the community in mourning.

Community Remembers the Legacy

Mangal Munda’s death has brought widespread grief, especially among those who revere the legacy of his ancestor, Birsa Munda, a revered tribal leader and freedom fighter.
