Ranchi Schools Implement New Timings, Effective Immediately, for Streamlined Education

The School Education and Literacy Department has revised school timings in Ranchi, affecting operational hours for various grade levels.

In a move to streamline the educational process, the School Education and Literacy Department has announced new timings for schools across Ranchi.

RANCHI – The School Education and Literacy Department has implemented revised school timings across Ranchi, effective immediately.

The new schedule alters operational hours for different grade levels, impacting all government, non-government aided, unaided (including minority), and private schools in the state.

Classes for Kindergarten through 8th grade will now take place from 7:00 am to 11:30 am.

For 9th grade and above, classes will run from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon.

This decision, approved by departmental secretary Nand Kishore Lal, aims to enhance the efficiency of the educational process.

Private schools are also expected to comply with these directives as per the guidelines of the RTE Act and management protocols.

After the summer vacation, classes will resume at their respective predetermined times.

These changes are designed to improve the overall functioning of schools and benefit the student community.
