MEDININAGAR – Christians across Palamu district celebrated Christmas with traditional fervor and special services as churches witnessed large gatherings for midnight mass and morning prayers.
Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas led the midnight mass at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church. The service began around 10 PM on Tuesday.
“Christ came to redeem humanity and spread peace,” Bishop Mascarenhas said. Moreover, he emphasized Christ’s message of love and service to the poor.
Message of Peace
The Bishop highlighted Christmas’s relevance today. “The world faces conflicts and hatred, making Christ’s message crucial,” a church official quoted him.
Meanwhile, parish units presented special carols. Furthermore, Father Arvind Munda and Father Ajay Minj assisted in the ceremonies.
Morning Services
Father Ajay Minj conducted the morning service starting at 8 AM. “Young people actively participated in carol singing,” a church member noted.
Additionally, devotees lit candles before Mother Mary’s statue. However, the focus remained on prayers for global peace and harmony.
