JAMSHEDPUR – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to hold its Legislative Party leader selection meeting in the first week of December.
Party leaders have decided to schedule this meeting after the Chief Minister’s swearing-in ceremony and cabinet announcement in Jharkhand.
Legislative Leader Selection
During the meeting, all BJP MLAs will share their opinions in the presence of a central observer.
Following these discussions, the party’s central leadership will finalize the name of the leader.
As the largest opposition party in the Jharkhand Assembly, the BJP will nominate its Legislative Party leader as the Leader of the Opposition.
Key contenders for the position include veteran leader Babulal Marandi and Ranchi MLA CP Singh.
Central Leadership and Election Review
On December 3, state BJP President Babulal Marandi and other key officials will meet in New Delhi.
The meeting will be chaired by National General Secretary (Organization) BL Santhosh, with participation from Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Himanta Biswa Sarma, who oversaw the recent assembly elections in Jharkhand.
The session will focus on reviewing the BJP’s election performance and formulating strategies for upcoming challenges.
Key Meetings in Jharkhand
From November 29 to December 1, the BJP has scheduled a series of review meetings at its Jharkhand office.
On November 29, the core committee will convene to analyze the party’s electoral performance.
Three critical sessions will be held on November 30:
The first, at 11 AM, will gather defeated candidates to discuss their feedback and election outcomes.
At 3 PM, a second meeting with assembly in-charges will evaluate local strategies.
The day will conclude with a 7 PM session involving the core committee and election committee.
On December 1, district presidents and divisional in-charges will meet at 11 AM, with state in-charge Laxmikant Bajpai participating.
