RAJNAGAR – A major accident occurred on the Hata-Chaibasa highway in Seraikela district as a truck fell off Pakhanadiha bridge on Monday. The vehicle, heading from Jhinkpani in Chaibasa, plunged 30 feet into the river.
The driver, a native of Garhwa, managed to escape through the truck’s shattered window. He sustained only minor injuries. "I felt drowsy and tried to steer back when I reached the bridge railing, but the truck lost control," the driver explained.
The incident was reported by local villagers who promptly informed the police. Rescue operations were underway at the time of reporting.
This accident highlights the dangers of fatigued driving, especially on highways. Police officials reminded drivers to take regular breaks during long journeys to avoid such mishaps.
