Chaibasa Police Recover Large Cache of Weapons from CPI Maoist Naxalites
Joint Operation Yields Ultra-Modern Arms and Ammunition
In a significant operation, Chaibasa police recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from a CPI Maoist Naxalite dump, including ultra-modern weapons.
CHAIBASA – Chaibasa police, in a major success, have recovered a substantial quantity of arms, ammunition, and sophisticated weapons from a CPI Maoist Naxalite hideout.
Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar revealed that the recovery was made following reliable intelligence, prompting a joint operation on Sunday.
The operation, conducted by a joint team of Chaibasa Police, Cobra, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF units, led to the discovery of an arsenal in the forest and hilly areas near the villages of Rengdaahatu and Tumbahaka under Tonto police station.
Recovered items include a 7.62 mm LMG, butt and barrel of an LMG, a .303 bore rifle, a 7.62 mm SLR, a 2-inch mortar, a revolver, four .22 Desi rifles, a volt action barrel cocking handle, a Desi rifle, a Desi double-barrel rifle, another .303 bore rifle, a 9 mm pistol, 435 live cartridges, two Desi pistol magazines, a magazine pouch, nine mobile phones, Naxal literature, and other daily use items.
SP Shekhar mentioned that top leaders of the CPI Maoist Naxalite organization, including Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Chaman, Kande, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angaria, and Ashwin, are reportedly active in the Kolhan area, planning subversive activities.
In response, a joint operation team comprising Chaibasa Police, Cobra, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF has been formed to carry out continuous operations to counter the Naxalite threat.
