DGP Reaches Chaibasa to Commend Team on Major Success in Anti-Naxal Operation

Five CPI Maoist Naxalites killed, two arrested in a successful operation by Jharkhand police and security forces.

Jharkhand Police celebrate a significant victory as they eliminate five Naxalites and capture two in a West Singhbhum encounter.

CHAIBASA – In a major breakthrough during an anti-Naxal search operation, police and security forces in West Singhbhum district successfully neutralized five Naxalites of CPI Maoist in an intense encounter on Monday.

Additionally, two Naxalites were apprehended.

State DGP Ajay Kumar Singh, along with senior police officials, arrived in Chaibasa by helicopter on Tuesday to commend the forces involved in this operation.

In a program held at Chaibasa Police Line, DGP Singh honored the soldiers and officers for their commendable efforts.

Speaking to journalists, DGP Ajay Kumar Singh expressed that this operation marks a significant achievement for Jharkhand Police.

He highlighted that the security forces inflicted heavy damage on the Naxalites, killing five and arresting two.

DGP Singh also urged Naxalites to surrender and integrate into the mainstream to benefit from government schemes.

Details of the Encounter

The operation included praise for West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Shekhar and his team, CRPF Commandant Deepak Bhati, and CRPF Chaibasa Battalion Commandant Pravesh Kumar Johri.

Those killed in the encounter have been identified as Zonal Committee member Kande Honhaga alias Govind Nagduwar alias Dirisum from Tholkobad, Chaibasa, Sub Zonal Committee member Singrai alias Manoj Kunjam from Sukma, Chhattisgarh, Squad member Jonga from Ichagoda, Chaibasa, Squad member Surya alias Manta Devgam alias Munda from Chaibasa, and Squad member Chotanagra, a female Naxalite named Sapni Hansda from Chaibasa.

The arrested individuals include Area Commander Tiger alias Pandu Hansda from Chaibasa and Squad member Bateri Banra.

Among the senior police officials who accompanied the DGP were ADG Operations Dr. Sanjay Anand Lathkar, IG Akhilesh Jha, IG Operations AV Homkar, DIG Jaguar Indrajit Mahatha, DIG Special Branch S Karthik, CRPF DIG SK Linda, and CRPF DIG DN Lal.

Future Actions

During the event, DGP Singh stated, "This operation is a testament to the dedication and bravery of our security forces. The team has worked tirelessly over the past two years to achieve this result."

He added that the successful operation will significantly weaken the Naxalite presence in the region.

The DGP also highlighted the importance of community support in such operations and urged local residents to cooperate with the police and security forces.

The police have been conducting anti-Naxal operations in the region for the past two years, resulting in several significant victories against the insurgents.

This latest success is expected to bolster the morale of the security forces and further the efforts to restore peace in the affected areas.
