Latehar Police Arrest Seven TPC Naxalites in Major Operation

Extremists caught with weapons, cash, and propaganda materials in Ichabar village raid

Jharkhand’s Latehar district sees significant anti-Naxal success as police apprehend seven members of the extremist TPC organization.

LATEHAR – Latehar police have dealt a significant blow to Naxal activities in the region with the arrest of seven extremists belonging to the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) organization.

"This operation marks a major success in our ongoing efforts against Naxalite groups," stated Anjan Anjani, Superintendent of Police, Latehar, during a press conference.

The arrested individuals include Oraon Deepak and Ansari Islam, who allegedly formed a new gang after their release from jail.

Police recovered two loaded country-made revolvers, a pistol, bullets, mobile phones, cash, and TPC propaganda materials during the raid.

The extremists were apprehended from Ichabar village in the Sadar police station area on Sunday evening.

"The group was planning a major incident when our SIT team, led by Sinha Kumar Pramod, conducted the raid," Anjan explained.

The arrested Naxalites were reportedly involved in extorting levy from local brick kiln owners and assaulting laborers.

Three motorcycles were also seized during the operation, potentially used in the group’s activities.

The successful raid followed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in response to recent extremist activities.

This arrest is expected to significantly disrupt TPC’s operations in the Latehar area and surrounding regions.
