CHAIBASA – Niral Purty from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is leading the Majhgaon Assembly constituency with a substantial margin in the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
He has secured 93,538 votes, leaving Barkuwar Gagrai of the Bharatiya Janata Party far behind with 34,348 votes.
Independent candidate Madhav Chandra Kunkal follows in third place with 16,026 votes.
The None of the Above (NOTA) option was chosen by 3,765 voters, reflecting voter dissatisfaction in some quarters.
Smaller parties like the Bharat Adivasi Party and independents such as Saroti Deogam and Birsa Boipai garnered votes ranging between 643 and 1,397.
