JAMSHEDPUR – Odisha’s second-seeded Pratyush Mohanty emerged victorious at the Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2024, claiming his first professional title in an intense final.

The match started with Tamil Nadu’s Chandan Shivaraj taking the first set 6-4 after breaking Mohanty in a pivotal game.

The second set remained tightly contested, with both players holding their serves until 5-5. Mohanty seized an opportunity, breaking Shivaraj to clinch the set 7-5 and level the match.

In the decider, Mohanty showcased his dominance, denying Shivaraj any free points and securing a convincing 6-2 win.

The victory not only marked Mohanty’s first professional title but also earned him 20 national ranking points, boosting his position in the circuit.

The tournament was held on the sand-clay courts of the prestigious Beldih Club, attracting top talent from across the country.
