Tata Steel CEO roots for walking extra mile to harness talent of women

Jamshedpur: The CEO & MD, Tata Steel T V Narendran has said that the human resource policies of the company demonstrate Tata Steel’s commitment to creating relatable and meaningful roles for women workforce.

In a message on International Women’s Day, he said that growing aspirations, changing demographics and rising expectations have made the company realise the importance of leveraging the potential of women at work.

He said: “We now need to walk that extra mile in order to hone and harness talent among women।”

In his message, Mr Narendran added: “At Tata Steel, it gratifies us to come together, to cherish and celebrate the cause of women, on International Women’s Day, today. It is with a sense of deep respect and appreciation that we honour the women who have played indispensable roles in our lives.”

The message further says: “Our human resource policies, learning and development opportunities and support systems, demonstrate our commitment to creating relatable and meaningful roles for our women workforce.

However, we must continue to reconstruct the future of work and revisit our talent policies, thus enabling us to become the most preferred company for women to work for, in the manufacturing and mining space.

Let us pledge to work together for a better and brighter tomorrow, by encouraging, enabling and empowering women, not just today, but for all time to come.”
