Thrilling Climbs and Major Wins on Day 2 of Asian Youth Climbing Championship

Young climbers dazzle Jamshedpur with extraordinary performances in bouldering finals

JAMSHEDPUR – The second day of the Asian Youth Sport Climbing Championship 2024 at JRD Tata Sports Complex delivered electrifying performances, as young climbers from across Asia pushed their limits in the Under-16 Bouldering finals and Lead qualifications for the Under-18 and Under-20 categories.

In the Under-16 Bouldering event, climbers from Korea and Japan stole the show, with breathtaking climbs that captivated the audience.

Under-16 Bouldering Medalists

Female Category

– Gold: Kim Gyurin (Korea)

– Silver: Yamazaki Iroha (Japan)

– Bronze: Murakami Waka (Japan)

Male Category

– Gold: Hamada Ryusei (Japan)

– Silver: Choi Jungbin (Korea)

– Bronze: Lee Hayool (Korea)

The medals were presented by Rasip Inn, Secretary General of IFSC Asia, and Col. Vijay Singh, President of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, who praised the athletes for their skill, sportsmanship, and determination.

As Day 2 wrapped up, anticipation builds for Day 3, which will feature intense Lead and Speed climbing events.

Day 3 Schedule – 16th November 2024

– 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Lead Isolation for U16, U18, U20 categories

– 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Lead Finals and Awarding Ceremony for all age groups

– 3:30 PM – 8:20 PM: Speed Practice and Qualifications across U16, U18, U20 categories

With climbers battling for glory and the audience eagerly awaiting more action, the championship promises an exhilarating day ahead.
