RANCHI – Income Tax officials launched extensive raids at multiple properties linked to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s personal secretary Sunil Srivastava amid election season.
The Income Tax department executed coordinated searches at seven locations in Ranchi.
Meanwhile, nine additional sites in Jamshedpur underwent thorough inspection.
Furthermore, the operation targeted Anjania Steel’s offices and associated establishments.
According to a reliable source, the raids stemmed from suspected tax evasion concerns.
On the other hand, Congress leader Rakesh Sinha expressed strong criticism against the central government’s actions.
Moreover, he suggested that BJP was attempting to regain influence through agency raids.
The operation follows previous searches conducted in October across multiple cities.
In addition, those raids revealed unaccounted assets worth approximately Rs 150 crore.
However, Chief Minister Hemant Soren viewed these actions as politically motivated.
Besides, he anticipated such measures as the election period approached.
