Jamshedpur has imposed prohibitory orders ahead of the 2024 Assembly Elections.

These orders fall under Section 171B of the Indian Penal Code.

The measures prohibit giving or receiving any form of bribe to influence voting.

Violations could result in imprisonment for up to one year or a fine.

Additionally, Section 173 of the IPC addresses voter and candidate intimidation.

It has made threatening or intimidating voters or candidates a punishable offense.

Meanwhile, flying squads have been deployed to monitor and enforce these orders.

Citizens are encouraged to report any attempts of bribery or voter intimidation.

They can use the toll-free number 1950 to report such incidents.

Alternatively, residents can contact the District Control Room directly.

A district official urged the public to remain vigilant during the election process.

The administration aims to prevent illegal activities during the election season.
