RANCHI – With the Jharkhand Assembly elections approaching, tensions have flared within the INDIA alliance over seat-sharing arrangements. RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP, Manoj Jha, expressed his dissatisfaction with how the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress decided the seat-sharing without consulting the RJD.
Speaking to the media in Ranchi, Jha criticized the unilateral announcement by JMM and Congress regarding contesting 70 seats, leaving only five for the RJD. He emphasized that RJD had strong candidates in the 2019 elections, with five of their candidates finishing second in their constituencies.
Jha expressed frustration that even though RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was in Ranchi, he was not informed about the coalition decisions. "We are capable of contesting over a dozen seats independently," Jha said, indicating that RJD is considering all options, including going solo in the elections.
The internal rift within the INDIA alliance adds to the already complicated seat-sharing discussions, as the NDA faces similar challenges in Jharkhand.
