JAMSHEDPUR – A tire warehouse on O Road in Bistupur, Jamshedpur, caught fire, resulting in extensive damage and destruction of goods worth lakhs of rupees.

The fire reportedly started due to sparks from welding work being carried out at the warehouse gate during routine maintenance.

According to sources, the warehouse undergoes renovation every three years, including painting by a contractor from the company.

During this process, welding work was also being performed, which is believed to have triggered the fire.

Initially, staff inside the warehouse tried to extinguish the flames, but the presence of tires caused the fire to spread rapidly.

Unable to control the blaze, they alerted the fire department.

Three fire engines arrived at the scene and managed to bring the fire under control after a concerted effort.

No injuries were reported, but the financial losses are estimated to be substantial.
