IMD predicts downpour in isolated areas within 48 hours due to cyclonic systems
Key Points:
• Heavy rain expected in parts of north-eastern Jharkhand
• Two active cyclonic circulations influencing weather patterns
• IMD warns residents to remain alert in flood-prone areas
JAMSHEDPUR – The India Meteorological Department has issued a forecast for heavy rainfall in isolated areas of north-eastern Jharkhand within the next two days.
Two active cyclonic circulations are influencing the region’s weather patterns.
Moreover, these systems are expected to bring significant rainfall by mid-week.
The Ranchi Meteorological Centre predicts heavy showers in districts like Dumka, Pakur, and Sahebganj.
In addition, parts of Jamtara may also experience intense rainfall and thunderstorms.
Thundershower activity is anticipated in some areas on Monday.
Meanwhile, a monsoon trough is running through several major locations across India.
Furthermore, an east-west trough stretches from the Andhra Pradesh coast to south Myanmar.
Two upper air cyclonic circulations are embedded within this trough system.
One circulation is positioned over the west-central Bay of Bengal.
The other is situated over south coastal Myanmar.
Both circulations extend up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.
These weather patterns may lead to a low-pressure area forming over the west-central Bay of Bengal.
Consequently, this could enhance moisture-laden winds moving towards the Indian subcontinent.
On the other hand, Jharkhand is currently experiencing a 3% rainfall deficit since the monsoon began.
The upcoming showers might provide relief in some areas.
However, it’s uncertain if they will significantly reduce the overall deficit.
A knowledgeable source stated, "Despite the predicted rains, temperatures are expected to remain stable."
Daytime highs will likely range from 30°C to 32°C.
Night time lows are expected to stay between 23°C and 25°C.
