JAMSHEDPUR – Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and Jal Jeevan Mission in Jamshedpur and Adityapur divisions.

The meeting took place at the Collectorate Auditorium.

It followed directives from District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal.

Moreover, officials reported on the cleanliness rankings of villages under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) Phase 2.

In Jamshedpur division, 1,043 out of 1,197 villages have received star rankings.

Meanwhile, 246 out of 443 villages in Adityapur division achieved similar rankings.

However, the DDC expressed concern over slow progress in individual household toilet construction.

Only 231 toilets have been built in Jamshedpur division against a target of 13,218.

In contrast, Adityapur division completed just 76 toilets out of a goal of 6,593.

Kumar directed officials to motivate eligible beneficiaries for timely completion.

Furthermore, he instructed integration of toilet construction with the Abua Awas housing scheme.

The DDC also reviewed the construction of plastic separation sheds in panchayats.

On the other hand, he stressed community participation in the upcoming Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 program.

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Kumar directed expedited construction of hand pumps.

He instructed preparation of alternative proposals for villages facing water source issues.

Additionally, the DDC expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress of the Kuliyana Multi-Village Scheme.

He called for rapid completion of household water connections in various schemes.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department.

In conclusion, Kumar urged all officers to adhere to deadlines for successful mission implementation.
