JAMSHEDPUR – The treatment of a road accident victim was delayed at Tata Main Hospital and this infuriated the residents of Tuiladungri, who later held a traffic blockade and protest at the RD Tata roundabout.
According to the information received from the police, Bittu Kalindi, a resident of Tuila Dungri, sustained injuries in a road accident on Kalimati Road.
The incident transpired in the vicinity of the Sakchi police station at the stroke of midnight.
Kalindi was subsequently transported to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) for medical treatment.
Nevertheless, according to the Basti residents, TMH initially declined to administer treatment due to a lack of payment.
A protest was organized by family members and local residents in response.
They obstructed the RD Tata roundabout, resulting in a traffic gridlock.
Sakchi police promptly arrived at the location upon receiving information.
The demonstrators were convinced by the officers to remove the road blockade.
In the interim, it was reported that Bittu Kalindi sustained a leg fracture as a result of a collision with a vehicle.
According to family members, the driver of the vehicle had expressed a willingness to reimburse medical expenses at the police station.
Nevertheless, the motorist is purported to have vanished from the station.
Conversely, Kalindi’s treatment was initiated as a result of police assurances.
Basti residents said that the circumstances emphasize the obstacles that accident victims encounter when attempting to obtain expeditious medical care.
