BHUBANESWAR – Odisha Governor Raghubar Das highlighted India’s transformative vision at KIIT University’s 20th Annual Convocation in Bhubaneswar.

Das emphasized the country’s dual state of challenge and excitement. He referenced Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision for 2047.

India’s economy is projected to become the world’s third-largest by 2030. This forecast aligns with the nation’s ambitious development goals.

The Governor lauded KIIT students for their academic and athletic achievements. He noted their participation in the Olympics, bringing honor to India.

Das praised Dr. Achyuta Samanta’s exceptional work in establishing KIIT. "Samanta has effectively used education as a tool for empowerment," he remarked.

The convocation saw 7,283 students receiving degrees across various programs. This included 5,455 Bachelors, 1,597 Masters, and 186 Ph.D. degrees.

Nobel Peace Laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk addressed the gathering virtually. She commended KIIT’s rapid rise to global prominence.

Matviichuk drew parallels between Samanta’s institution-building efforts and her own experiences. "Ordinary people can do extraordinary things," she observed.

Dr. Samanta, in his message, urged graduates to embrace risk and innovation. He emphasized the importance of ideas, innovation, and impact in shaping their futures.

The ceremony recognized academic excellence with various medals and awards. Fifty-nine students received accolades for their outstanding performances.

"Today’s youth are driving change through innovation and startups," noted a local education expert. "They’re becoming job creators, not just job seekers."

India’s position among the top three countries in the startup ecosystem was highlighted. This growth is creating opportunities for thousands of people.

The convocation underscored KIIT’s role in nurturing talent and contributing to India’s progress. It reflected the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and social empowerment.
