Volleyball and Kabaddi Players Shine in Two-Day Event at Bistupur Campus

JAMSHEDPUR – The first annual sports meet at Jamshedpur Women’s University showcased impressive performances in volleyball and kabaddi competitions.

The inaugural sports meet for the 2024-2025 session took place on September 12 and 13 at the university’s Bistupur campus.

In the volleyball tournament, seven teams displayed their skills on the court.

The B.P.Ed team emerged as the champions, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and athleticism.

Postgraduate students secured the second position, showcasing their competitive spirit.

Meanwhile, undergraduate students claimed the third spot in the volleyball competition.

On the other hand, the kabaddi contest witnessed fierce competition among nine participating teams.

Undergraduate students dominated the kabaddi tournament, clinching the top position.

B.P.Ed students showcased their prowess, securing the second place in kabaddi.

Moreover, undergraduate arts students demonstrated their skills, finishing third in the kabaddi competition.

During the closing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta addressed the participants.

She congratulated the students on their outstanding performances and encouraged them to actively pursue sports.

"The field of sports offers immense potential for growth and development," remarked a university official.

The Vice Chancellor expressed her wishes for a bright future for all the participating students.

Furthermore, she emphasized the university’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent among its students.

The success of the sports meet was attributed to the dedicated efforts of the Sports Committee.

Dr. Sanatan Deep, the chairman of the Sports Committee, led the organizing team effectively.

Committee members Teja and Prabhat Mahato, along with others, were praised for their hard work.

Their dedication in planning and executing the event contributed significantly to its success.

The inaugural sports meet set a promising precedent for future athletic endeavors at the university.
