JAMSHEDPUR – The Mango Municipal Corporation initiated a dengue prevention drive on Friday, focusing on waste management and mosquito control.
Under the direction of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Ranjit Lohra, a team led by City Manager Kunal Kumar enforced fines of ₹3,500 on Old Purulia Road and ₹2,000 in Pardih for garbage disposal violations.
Lohra emphasized the importance of daily anti-larvae spraying within the corporation’s jurisdiction to curb the spread of dengue.
He appealed to residents to prevent water stagnation in containers, tires, and flower pots, as these can become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
Shopkeepers were also urged not to dispose of garbage on the streets.
The corporation stressed that public cooperation is essential for maintaining cleanliness and preventing the spread of disease.
Officials, including Kunal Kumar Singh, Rahul Kumar, and Municipal Mission Manager Nirmal Kumar, were present during the operation.
