Youth Returning Home After Treatment From MGM Hospital Dies, Family Members Allege Medical Negligence

Jamshedpur: There was a huge uproar in the hospital premises on Sunday after a young man who returned home after treatment at the MGM Hospital in Dimna Chowk in the city died under suspicious circumstances. The family members of the deceased have accused the doctors of serious negligence and demanded a fair investigation into the case and action against the culprits.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Shravan Kumar, resident of Bhuiyadih Kanu Bhatta of Sidgora police station area. According to family members, Shravan’s leg was already injured, due to which there was swelling and wound. When the pain suddenly increased on Sunday morning, he was taken to MGM Hospital for treatment.

Family members allege that only first aid was given in the hospital. After cleaning the wound, applying medicine and bandaging, he was sent home. The family says that they had demanded detailed investigation and better treatment from the doctors considering the patient’s condition, but their views were not taken seriously.

It was told that a few hours after returning home, Shravan Kumar’s health suddenly started deteriorating. The leg pain became unbearable and his restlessness increased. When his condition became serious, his family members again took him to MGM Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.

As soon as the news of death was received, there was chaos among the family members. Angry family members protested in the hospital premises and alleged medical negligence. Deceased’s brother Ashish Kumar said that if the patient had been properly examined and treated effectively in the morning itself, his brother’s life could have been saved.

After the incident, questions are being raised on the health services and medical system of MGM Hospital. The family members have demanded a high-level investigation into the entire matter and strict action against those responsible. Till the time of writing the news, no official statement was issued by the hospital management in this regard.
