CBI Registers Case Against FCI Godown Contractor in Giridih

Searches conducted at accused’s residence; documents and bank details recovered

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against a Food Corporation of India godown contractor in Giridih for alleged misappropriation.

GIRIDIH – The CBI has filed a case against a private contractor of an FCI godown in Giridih following searches and the recovery of incriminating documents.

The case was registered based on a complaint from the General Manager (Region) of Food Corporation of India, Ranchi.

Allegations suggest that in June 2023, the accused misappropriated 3000 bags of wheat and 2800 bags of rice.

The total value of the allegedly embezzled goods amounts to Rs. 96,39,674/-.

The accused is the owner/investor of PEG (Private Entrepreneurship Guarantee) Suriya Godown-I in Giridih.

CBI officials conducted searches at the residential premises of the accused in Giridih district, Jharkhand.

The searches led to the recovery of incriminating documents related to FCI, property details, and bank account information.

The investigation is ongoing as the CBI continues to probe the case.

The case also implicates unknown public servants and private individuals in a criminal conspiracy.

This action follows notifications issued by both the Jharkhand government and the Centre.
