Teachers Gather for English Training at DAV Public School Bistupur

Two-day workshop focuses on enhancing English teaching skills across primary to senior secondary levels

A capacity building program for 42 English teachers from DAV schools in Jharkhand Zone E commenced at DAV Public School, Bistupur.

JAMSHEDPUR – DAV Public School, Bistupur is hosting a two-day English teaching workshop for 42 teachers from DAV schools across Jharkhand Zone E.

The Capacity Building Programme, organized by DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, began on September 1, 2024.

The workshop aims to enhance various aspects of English teaching for primary, secondary, and senior secondary levels.

Mrs. Pragya Singh, ARO of DAV Public Schools, Jharkhand Zone-E and Principal of the host school, inaugurated the event.

She emphasized the importance of continuous learning for both academic excellence and holistic development of students.

"Incorporating idioms, phrases, and proverbs in regular communication will enrich students’ language skills," Singh advised the participants.

The program features sessions on diverse topics, including NCF and Language, Poetic Devices, and Deep Reading Plans.

"This workshop is crucial for adapting our teaching methods to evolving educational standards," remarked a participating teacher.

Enhancing English Teaching Skills

For secondary and senior secondary levels, Mrs. Sujata Mukherjee discussed the National Curriculum Framework’s holistic approach.

Ms. Pratibha Singh conducted a session on Poetic Devices, demonstrating their role in enhancing literal meanings.

Mrs. Meena K S focused on Deep Reading Plans, emphasizing its importance for language comprehension and fluent reading.

Mr. Pradeepta Kumar Das highlighted the significance of reading in developing critical thinking and writing skills.

Primary level sessions covered topics such as addressing learning gaps and integrating art in language teaching.

Mrs. M Sunita and Mrs. Moulimala Ganguly led sessions on helping students with learning gaps and art integration in language teaching, respectively.

The day concluded with ‘Achievement Alchemy’, an activity designed to analyze participants’ takeaways from the sessions.

The workshop continues on September 2, aiming to further equip teachers with innovative English teaching methodologies.
