Guidelines Issued for Fair, Transparent, and Safe Conduct of Polls

District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla conducted a virtual meeting with Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and Sector Magistrates to discuss and provide necessary guidelines for the fair, transparent, and safe conduct of the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024.

SERAIKELA – District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla held a virtual conference with Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and Sector Magistrates to deliberate and issue essential guidelines for the impartial, transparent, and secure execution of the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024.

In the meeting, Deputy Development Joint Mr. Prabhat Kumar Baratiar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Alok Dubey, DRDA Director, ITDA Director and senior officers of all cells, all Electoral Registrar officers, all Assistant Electoral Registrar officers and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner told all the sector magistrates that you have an important contribution in the election work, perform your responsibilities with complete honesty and sensitivity, all the sector magistrates will work as a link by establishing mutual coordination so that timely information is provided. Can be exchanged.

In this sequence, the Deputy Commissioner has asked all the Sector Magistrates to allow absentee voters (voters above 85 years of age, disabled voters, officials/personnel engaged in election work, employees working in government departments, media representatives, etc.) to vote through postal ballot. Make people aware about this.

During this, he said that wallable booths and hamlets should be marked as per the guidelines and the concerned ARO, AERO should be informed so that preparations can be completed as per the requirement.

In this sequence, the Deputy Commissioner said that while inspecting the polling stations, a route chart should be prepared for the traffic at the center so that it can be used as per requirement.

In this sequence, the Deputy Commissioner said that by holding a meeting with the members of the Booth Awareness Group, awareness programs should be organized in the area through the group so that everyone’s participation can be ensured.

Besides, in addition to the initial responsibility, all Sector Magistrates should visit all the polling station locations in their respective areas to take stock of the necessary facilities before the polling day and activate the Ghost Awareness Group to inform people about the date of polling in the respective areas.

Instructions were given to create awareness about polling booths, necessary facilities available at polling booths etc.

In the meeting, the District Election Officer gave necessary instructions to all the Sector Magistrates and said that compliance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India should be ensured.

During the meeting, necessary guidelines were given through point-wise discussion regarding the conduct of Lok Sabha General Elections-2024 in a fair, transparent and safe manner.
