CHATRA – A 28-year-old man died and two others suffered critical injuries after their car rammed into a parked truck in Kishunpur under Sadar police station area on Wednesday night. The accident occurred near Lakhan Mistry’s house in the village.
The deceased, Basant Rana, son of Saryu Rana of Kishunpur, was returning from Badhar in a Bolero car when the crash occurred. The vehicle went out of control before slamming into a truck standing on the roadside.
The impact of the collision was severe enough that Rana died at the scene. Two other occupants of the car, Upendra Rana and Ramdev Rana alias Guddu Rana, were seriously injured in the crash.
Both injured men were given first aid before being referred to Hazaribag for advanced treatment. Sadar police station personnel reached the spot after being alerted and began an investigation into the accident.
The village has been left in mourning following the incident. Meanwhile, residents raised concerns over vehicles being parked haphazardly along the roadside, calling it a persistent hazard.
Villagers have demanded strict action against those responsible for parking vehicles carelessly on the road. They have also sought adequate compensation for the deceased’s family.
The accident is among several recent road mishaps reported from Jharkhand’s Chatra district, where poor road conditions and unsafe parking have repeatedly come under scrutiny following similar crashes in the region.
