Over 5.91 Lakh Voters to Participate in Khunti and Singhbhum Parliamentary Constituencies

The voters of Seraikela and Kharsawan assembly constituencies are set to exercise their democratic right today, as they cast their ballots for the Khunti and Singhbhum Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies, with an impressive turnout of 5,91,067 lakh voters anticipated across the two constituencies.

SERAIKELA – The long-awaited day has arrived for voters in the Seraikela and Kharsawan assembly constituencies, as they prepare to make their voices heard in the Lok Sabha elections for the Khunti and Singhbhum parliamentary seats.

The Seraikela Assembly boasts a substantial 3,66,989 registered voters, while the Kharsawan Assembly comprises 2,24,078 voters, together accounting for the staggering total of 5,91,067 lakh expected participants.

To accommodate the significant voter turnout, authorities have established 431 polling stations in Seraikela Assembly and 282 in Kharsawan Assembly, ensuring ample access for all eligible voters.

As the sun rose, the voting process kicked off with the distribution of appointment letters and essential voting materials to polling officials and personnel.

Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were meticulously prepared and deployed across polling stations in the 51-Seraikela (ST) Assembly under the Singhbhum Lok Sabha constituency and the 57-Kharsawan (ST) Assembly under the Khunti Lok Sabha constituency.

The material distribution process was meticulously overseen by Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla, Superintendent of Police Manish Toppo, and the Assembly’s Assistant Electoral Officer, guaranteeing a well-organized and transparent procedure.

Help desks and medical centers were strategically placed at the polling party premises, providing comprehensive support to ensure a seamless voting experience for all participants.

A formidable team of 2,852 polling personnel, including 106 micro observers, 78 sector magistrates, and additional reserve staff, were dispatched to the 713 booths across the constituencies, accompanied by sector officers and police forces to maintain order and security.

During the deployment briefing, District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla emphasized the importance of adhering to the Election Commission of India’s guidelines, directing the polling team to carry out their duties with utmost efficiency and integrity.
