Naval Tata Hockey Academy Hosts Penalty Stroke Challenge in Jamshedpur

Event marks 120th Birth Anniversary of Naval Tata with enthusiastic participation from 13 schools.

A special penalty stroke challenge organized by the Naval Tata Hockey Academy in Jamshedpur saw 390 students from 13 schools competing in honor of Naval Tata’s 120th birth anniversary.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Naval Tata Hockey Academy celebrated the 120th birth anniversary of Naval Tata with the “HOOK TO HOCKEY” Penalty Stroke Challenge, held under the guidance of Hockey East Singhbhum.

The event attracted participants from 13 schools across the city, totaling 390 students. Divided into Under 12, Under 14, and Under 16 categories, the students competed with enthusiasm, showcasing their hockey skills and fostering a passion for the sport.

Prominent schools that participated included Rajasthani Maitri Sangh, Vivek Vidyalaya, and multiple branches of Kerala Public School, among others.

In the Boys category:

  • Under 12: KPS Mango emerged victorious, with KPS Burmamines as runners-up.

  • Under 14: KPS Mango again clinched the top spot, followed by JUSCO School South Park.

  • Under 16: KPS NML took first place, with KPS Kadma in second.

In the Girls category:

  • Under 12: KPS NML won, with Rajasthani Maitri Sangh as runners-up.

  • Under 14: KPS Gamharia secured victory, with KPS NML taking second place.

  • Under 16: KPS Mango claimed the top position, while Srinath Public School finished as runners-up.

“The dedication and energy of these young players are truly inspiring,” said an official from the Naval Tata Hockey Academy. “Events like these are essential in cultivating a deep love for hockey among students.”

The academy continues to be a pillar of support for budding hockey talents, committed to nurturing the next generation of players.
