Massive Salary Fraud Uncovered in Ramgarh Health Department
Over Rs 1 crore illegally withdrawn from National Rural Health Mission account
A major salary fraud involving illegal withdrawals exceeding Rs 1 crore has been exposed in Ramgarh district’s health department, spanning 15-16 months.
RAMGARH – Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar revealed a significant salary fraud in Ramgarh’s health department, with illegal withdrawals surpassing Rs 1 crore over 15-16 months.
The scam involves salary payments to five non-existent doctors in Ramgarh district.
Preliminary investigations show that the bank accounts linked to these fake doctors are operated by an orderly in the district health department, and his wife.
The fraudulent withdrawals were made from the District Health Committee’s account under the National Rural Health Mission.
Deputy Commissioner Kumar disclosed this information during a press conference at the District Collectorate’s NIC room.
The total embezzled amount could potentially exceed Rs 10 crore, raising serious concerns about the scale of the fraud.
A high-level committee, led by Sub-Divisional Officer Ashish Gangwar, has been established to investigate all payments made by the District Health Committee.
The committee will examine scheme-related disbursements and salaries, aiming to submit a detailed report within a week.
The fake doctors’ names used in the scam are Dr. Rahul Kumar, Dr. Sangeeta Barik, Dr. Veena Kumari, Dr. T. Chakraborty, and Sarita Kumari.
None of these individuals have ever served in the Ramgarh district health department.
Appropriate legal action will be taken against those involved in the fraudulent activities based on the committee’s findings.
