BJP Burns Effigies of CM Hemant Soren Across Jharkhand

In Jamshedpur, BJP workers burn an effigy of CM Hemant Soren to protest police action during the Ranchi rally.

On August 23, BJP workers across Jharkhand, including Jamshedpur, burned effigies of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in protest against the use of rubber bullets and water cannons on party members during the BJP Yuva Morcha’s "Akrosh Rally" in Ranchi.

JAMSHEDPUR – BJP workers in Jamshedpur burned an effigy of Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the main road between the District Headquarters and the District Superintendent of Police’s office on August 23.

The protest was in response to the police action during the BJP Yuva Morcha’s "Akrosh Rally" in Ranchi, where BJP members were reportedly fired upon with rubber bullets, and water cannons and tear gas shells were used.

BJP State Executive Committee member Dinesh Kumar stated that despite being peaceful, BJP workers faced obstacles from the administration, from the outskirts of Jamshedpur to Ranchi’s Morabadi ground.

He further explained that the brutality of the state administration during the rally, where BJP State President Babulal Marandi was addressing the crowd, led to serious injuries to several party workers and leaders.

In protest against this "administrative barbarism" and in solidarity with the injured, BJP workers organized the burning of CM Hemant Soren’s effigy.

This protest was part of a state-wide demonstration against the actions of the state government, showing the party’s strong stance against what they called "oppressive measures."
