Barh (Patna): Bhola Singh, a notorious criminal from Pandarak in Patna district and carrying a reward of Rs 3 lakh, has finally come under the grip of the law. He has been brought to Bihar after being arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from Surat in Gujarat. At present he has been kept in Barh police station and will be produced in the court after the court opens on Tuesday.
According to the information, on May 16, CBI had arrested Bhola Singh, who was absconding for a long time, from Surat. After his arrest, he was brought to Hathidah station by train via West Bengal, from where he was taken to Barh police station by road under tight security.
Arrested in old kidnapping case, was living in Surat under the name ‘Gautam’ and ‘Amit Sharma’
CBI has arrested Bhola Singh in an old case related to the kidnapping of two people from West Bengal. Bhola Singh, who was absconding for about 12 years, was hiding his identity and living in Surat under the names ‘Gautam’ and ‘Amit Sharma’. A total of 11 cases of murder, extortion and other serious crimes are registered against him in various police stations of Bihar.
Name also linked to murder of chief and policemen
Apart from the murder of Pandarak East Panchayat head Priyaranjan Kumar alias Gorelal in the year 2021, Bhola Singh’s name also came up in the murder case of Pandarak police station’s ASI Rajesh Kumar and Lal Bahadur. After these cases, he was included in the list of most wanted criminals of the police.
CRPF jawan becomes big name in crime world
Before joining the world of crime, Bhola Singh was a soldier in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and had also received commando training. However, later he took to the path of crime and remained active in the criminal world of Bihar for the last two decades. His name has been in discussions due to both friendship and enmity with Bahubali leader and former JDU MLA Anant Singh.
There was also a connection with the AK-47 recovery case.
Bhola Singh is also accused of murdering Viveka Pehalwan’s brother Sanjay Singh. In 2019, an AK-47 rifle was recovered during a police raid on Anant Singh’s ancestral residence. It is said that this action was taken after receiving information about a conspiracy to murder Bhola Singh. Anant Singh was sentenced to 10 years in the same case.
Brother surrendered, Bhola kept dodging the police
The government had declared a reward of Rs 3 lakh each on Bhola Singh and his brother Mukesh Singh. Although Mukesh Singh has already surrendered and came out on bail, Bhola Singh continued to escape from the police by constantly changing his identity. Now his arrest is being considered a major success for Bihar Police and central agencies.
