Waterlogging on NH-33 near Dimna disrupts traffic, causes severe inconvenience to commuters.
Heavy rain on Friday morning led to severe waterlogging on NH-33, especially near Dimna and opposite Awadh Dental College.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Commuters encountered significant challenges on NH-33 near Dimna and Awadh Dental College on Friday morning due to waterlogging caused by torrential rainfall and blockage of nearby drains.
The accumulation of rain water on the road, particularly in the vicinity of Tata International Vehicle Application Private Limited (TIVA), led to complications for both pedestrians and vehicle drivers and the resulting chaos caused a lot of problems for the general public too.
The inundated areas posed the greatest challenge for pedestrians and two-wheeler commuters, who were unable to navigate them and many of them found it difficult to reach home or workplaces.
The water infiltrating numerous vehicles presented the commuters with additional obstacles.
This situation was a result of the obstruction of roadside sewers, which has led to water accumulation in the absence of precipitation, according to reports and locals.
The locals say that this persistent issue has significantly disrupted traffic on the highway.
The authorities have been urged to take immediate action to prevent any additional inconveniences, as the local residents and commuters have expressed their frustration with the inadequate drainage system. However, till now nothing much has been done by any authority and it is feared that the same situation may repeat every time it rains for a few hours.
