RANCHI – The BJP held a press conference at its state office in Ranchi, accusing the government of using excessive force against protesters at the Yuva Akrosh Rally held at Morabadi Ground.
Opposition leader Amar Kumar Bauri claimed August 23 will be remembered in history for youth demonstrating against government failures.
Bauri alleged the government attempted to suppress a democratic movement.
He accused authorities of preventing BJP workers from reaching Ranchi to attend the rally.
The BJP leader compared the police cordoning of Morabadi Ground to an international border.
Bauri claimed police fired tear gas and "poisonous gas" typically used against terrorists in Kashmir.
The opposition has demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident by a sitting judge.
BJP announced plans for protests at all police stations across Jharkhand in response to the alleged suppression.
Demonstrations will also be held in front of SP offices statewide.
Bauri likened the situation to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, accusing police of using harmful gases on BJP workers.
The BJP leader stated the government’s actions will be remembered for years to come.
He criticized the administration’s behavior, claiming they treated BJP workers like terrorists.
The opposition alleged that buses were seized to prevent BJP supporters from reaching Ranchi.
