BJP’s Sankalp Yatra in Baharagora Targets Hemant Government’s Failings, Advocates Change

Amid Political Charged Atmosphere, Former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi Leads Call for Transformation in State Governance

In a significant move, former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi took to the stage at Baharagora to lambaste the Hemant government, contrast it with the initiatives of the Central Government under PM Modi, and call for a change in state leadership.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Baharagora branch ground turned into a bustling political hub as Babulal Marandi, BJP State President and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, addressed a massive crowd under the chairmanship of District President Saurabh Chakraborty. Padmashri Jamuna Tudu set the tone for the event by extending a floral welcome to the dignitaries.

The Central vs State Governance Dynamic

Babulal Marandi extolled the virtues of the Modi-led Central Government, emphasizing schemes like housing for the poor and the Ujjwala initiative that provides gas cylinders and stoves to impoverished families. “The Central Government is the government of the poor,” he declared.

On the flip side, Marandi took a dim view of the Hemant-led state government, dismissing it as a “government of announcements only.” He cited surging illegal activities and claimed that state machinery is more focused on increasing commissioning rather than serving the populace.

Governance, Commissioning, and Illegal Activities

Marandi further elaborated on his criticism by exposing the problem of illegal sand mining that has plagued poor families in Jharkhand. He accused the Hemant government of turning a blind eye to healthcare and education, two key areas where, according to him, the state has utterly collapsed.

A Call for Transformation and Accountability

Winding up his speech, Marandi called on the crowd to take the reins of change into their hands. He encouraged them to think about the future of the state and vote responsibly in the forthcoming elections to bring about a governance overhaul.

MP Bidyut Baran’s Critique

MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, another prominent speaker, pointed out the lackluster approach of the Hemant government toward conservation, specifically in the areas of water, forest, and land. Mahato extolled the policies of the BJP government and stated that the existing state government has been a letdown in fulfilling the people’s aspirations.

From Baharagora to Smuggling Hub: Dr. Dinesh Sarangi’s Take

Former Health Minister Dr. Dinesh Sarangi shared his concerns about the decline in the reputation of Baharagora. Once a hub of development, it’s now notorious for smuggling activities. Dr. Sarangi expressed his desire for a BJP win in the upcoming elections to alter this grim reality.

Youths and Unfulfilled Promises: Kunal Sarangi Speaks

Former MLA and BJP state spokesperson Kunal Sarangi expressed his dismay over the state’s youth being cheated by unfulfilled promises. He remarked that Jamshedpur had devolved into a “capital of crime” under the current government.

A Plea for Change: Dr. Dineshanand Goswami

Former state president of BJP, Dr. Dineshanand Goswami urged people to break away from the clutches of a corrupt government. Goswami was particularly concerned about the dismal state of agriculture, as farmers struggle to access water for irrigation, something the previous BJP government had made available.

The Final Word

Babulal Marandi closed the event by urging everyone present to take a pledge for change. The overwhelming sentiment at the Sankalp Yatra was one of collective responsibility to usher in better governance through the power of the ballot.
