JAMSHEDPUR – ADJ-2 Aabhas Kumar Verma’s court has issued a show-cause notice to the MGM Police Station in-charge for failing to present witnesses in a 2022 murder case.
The case involves the killing of Sunil Singh from Beko village, whose body was found in a canal at Shukupada on July 25, 2022.
An FIR was filed based on the victim’s father’s statement, accusing 5-6 unknown persons of the murder.
Police arrested Dashrath Singh, Nakul Mundari, and two minors from Beko village in connection with the crime.
Despite court orders, key witnesses including Dr. Vibhakar Kumar from MGM Hospital have not appeared to testify.
The court had initially set a May 30 deadline for witness presentation, which was later extended to August 17.
After repeated non-compliance, the court ordered the SHO to appear in person and explain the delay.
The court has suspended the SHO’s salary until the case is resolved, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.
Communication has been sent to the Senior Superintendent of Police to ensure compliance with court orders.
This action underscores the importance of accountability in the judicial process and adherence to legal mandates by law enforcement.
