Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for 14 Jharkhand Districts

Orange and yellow alerts declared as Sawan month concludes; rain may persist until August 24

Jharkhand braces for intense rainfall in southwestern and central regions as meteorological warnings are issued for multiple districts.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Meteorological Department has issued rainfall warnings for 14 districts in Jharkhand on August 19 and 20, with heavy downpours expected as Sawan month ends.

An orange alert has been declared for Gumla, Simdega, West Singhbhum, and Khunti districts, signaling the likelihood of intense precipitation.

The meteorological authorities have also issued a yellow alert for ten additional districts, including Ranchi, Lohardaga, and East Singhbhum.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated in parts of the south-western and adjacent central regions of Jharkhand.

The affected areas under yellow alert include Latehar, Chatra, Garhwa, Palamu, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, and Seraikela-Kharsawan.

Weather experts predict that the wet conditions could persist across the state until August 24.

Residents in the alerted districts are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on weather developments.

Local authorities are likely to monitor the situation closely to ensure public safety during this period of increased rainfall.

The conclusion of Sawan month coincides with this spell of heavy rain, potentially affecting religious observances and daily activities.

Farmers and agricultural workers in the region may need to adjust their schedules and protect crops from potential water logging.
