JAMSHEDPUR – On the martyrdom day of Shaheed Nirmal Mahto, AJSU District Committee, led by President Kanhaiya Singh, organized a procession from Modi Park to Chamaria Guest House in Jamshedpur, followed by tributes at his memorial in Uliyan.

Renowned Jhumar artists Govindo Lal Mahto, Bholanath Mahto, and Rajdut Mahto performed cultural programs celebrating Jharkhand’s heritage.

Former state minister Ramchandra Sahis, the chief guest, addressed the gathering, emphasizing that Nirmal Mahto’s name is not just that of an individual but symbolizes the movement for a separate Jharkhand state.

Sahis praised Mahto’s dedication to protecting Jharkhand’s water, forests, and land, stating that his sacrifices led to the creation of Jharkhand.

He criticized the current government for its policies, claiming they betray Mahto’s legacy by commercializing alcohol and compromising the state’s natural resources.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment to achieving Nirmal Mahto’s dream for Jharkhand.
