JAMSHEDPUR – On the martyrdom day of Shaheed Nirmal Mahto, AJSU District Committee, led by President Kanhaiya Singh, organized a procession from Modi Park to Chamaria Guest House in Jamshedpur, followed by tributes at his memorial in Uliyan.
The event saw thousands of party workers participating in a bike rally to Mukurdi Chowk, where they laid wreaths at Nirmal Mahto’s statue and held a tribute meeting.
Renowned Jhumar artists Govindo Lal Mahto, Bholanath Mahto, and Rajdut Mahto performed cultural programs celebrating Jharkhand’s heritage.
Former state minister Ramchandra Sahis, the chief guest, addressed the gathering, emphasizing that Nirmal Mahto’s name is not just that of an individual but symbolizes the movement for a separate Jharkhand state.
Sahis praised Mahto’s dedication to protecting Jharkhand’s water, forests, and land, stating that his sacrifices led to the creation of Jharkhand.
He criticized the current government for its policies, claiming they betray Mahto’s legacy by commercializing alcohol and compromising the state’s natural resources.
Sahis urged the public to uphold Nirmal Mahto’s vision and strive for a government that truly represents Jharkhand’s values and interests.
District President Kanhaiya Singh spoke about Nirmal Mahto’s lasting impact, recalling his personal experiences with the leader.
He criticized the current government’s lack of commitment to Mahto’s ideals, urging support for AJSU to realize Mahto’s dream for Jharkhand.
Singh emphasized that the current government has failed to fulfill the expectations of the people, who had hoped for progress based on Mahto’s vision.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to achieving Nirmal Mahto’s dream for Jharkhand.
