ADITYAPUR – Adityapur Police arrested notorious liquor mafia S Mandal along with V Mahanti, P Kumar Prasad, A Kumar, V Munda, and G, sending them to judicial custody on Saturday.

SDPO Santosh Mishra reported that S Mandal was on the run for illegal liquor trading.

V Mahanti and P Kumar Prasad were accused of snatching a woman’s bag in Saldih Basti.

On Friday, a woman, accompanied by her friend, was heading towards Sarita Talkies from Hariom Nagar.

Near the Kali Temple in Hariom Nagar, two men on a Passion Pro bike snatched her bag and fled.

Police investigation led to the arrest of V Mahanti and P Kumar Prasad.

They recovered seven ladies’ purses from them.

In a related incident on Friday, a woman on Adityapur-2 Road No. 32 was a victim of snatching at Sher-e-Punjab Chowk.

Locals helped catch A Kumar, who was fleeing after the snatching.

Police recovered two mobiles and a motorcycle from him.

Additionally, during a patrol near Imli Chowk, police chased and apprehended two youths, Vijay Munda and Gautam Ranjan.

The two tried to flee upon seeing the police vehicle.

The two, residents of Ranchi, were found in possession of 14 packets of brown sugar.

All the arrested individuals were interrogated and subsequently sent to judicial custody on Saturday.
