DAV National Sports Cluster-1 Tournament Showcases Athletic Talent
Second day of the tournament witnessed thrilling track and field events.
The second day of the DAV National Sports Cluster-1 Tournament 2024 saw young athletes from various DAV schools in Jharkhand Zone-E display their skills in a range of track and field events at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium, Telco.
JAMSHEDPUR – At Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium in Telco, the second day of the DAV National Sports Cluster-1 Tournament 2024 brought together youth athletes from DAV schools in Jharkhand Zone-E.
Participation and Event Highlights
The event consisted of 40 track and field events that were categorized by age group: Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19.
The track events consisted of Relay Races, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m races, while the field events included Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, and Discus Throw.
The track events were the highlight of the day, as athletes exhibited exceptional endurance, agility, and speed. The venue was alive with anticipation as athletes prepared for a grueling competition.
Award Recipients and Winners
The prizes were presented on the spot by the Principals of the participating schools, including Mrs. Chandrani Banerjee (TATA DAV School, Sijua), Mrs. Mahua Singh (DAV Model School, CFRI, Dhanbad), Ms. Rekha Kumari (SJ DAV Public School, Chaibasa), Mr. Asis Kumar Mandal (DAV Public School, Mahuda), Mr. P.K. Bhuiya (TATA DAV School, Noamundi), Mr. Rakesh Sharma (DAV Public School, Barora), and Mr. A.K. Mishra (TATA DAV School, Jamadoba).
Championship Results
DAV Public School, Bistupur was the ultimate champion in the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 (Girls) categories. Additionally, they secured the ultimate championship in the Under-19 and Under-17 (Boys) categories.
The Under-14 (Boys) category was won by DAV Model School, CFRI, Dhanbad, which also received the ultimate championship trophy.
Inspiration and Prospective Tournaments
The juvenile athletes were encouraged and motivated by Mrs. Pragya Singh, who recognized their efforts and encouraged them to remain focused on their objectives. She also motivated them to prepare for the Zonal and National Level Tournaments, which are scheduled for August and October 2024, respectively.
The event was effectively concluded, emphasizing the ability of sports to foster a sense of belonging among young athletes and unite communities.
Opportunities for the participants to demonstrate their sporting prowess, justice, and equality were afforded by the day’s events.
