Two Minor Girls Electrocuted in Saraikela-Kharsawan District
Tragic accident claims lives of two girls in Gutusai Tola.
Two minor girls, aged 12 and 13, were electrocuted in Gutusai Tola under Amda OP, Saraikela-Kharsawan district on Sunday.
KHARSAWAN – Two minor girls, Kuni Banra (13) and Rukmani Samad (12), were electrocuted in Gutusai Tola under Amda OP, Saraikela-Kharsawan district on Sunday.
According to reports, Kuni Banra, daughter of Biru Banra, and Rukmani Samad, daughter of Arjun Samad, were playing when they came into contact with an exposed earthing wire near an electric pole.
The earthing wire was live, causing both girls to suffer severe burns and lose consciousness.
Locals rushed the girls to Kharsawan CHC, and after initial treatment, they were transferred to Saraikela Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Upon learning of the incident, MLA representative Anoop Singhdev and JMM leader Rani Banra visited the Sadar Hospital and assured the families of compensation according to the rules.
Kuni Banra was a resident of Gutusai village, while Rukmani Samad, originally from Kolabadi, Rajnagar, was visiting her maternal grandparents in Gutusai village.
The families of the deceased are devastated by the incident.
Amda police have reached Saraikela Sadar Hospital to gather information from the families and will conduct a post-mortem after completing the necessary formalities.
